First I got to wash it, the body's been in the corner of the barn collecting dust the whole time Embarassed

Still trying to get all the air out of the brakes, that has priority right now.

Congratulations
Job well done. Looks really nice.
So, does this mean you will be at Maggie Valley next year?
And, what is the next project?
...or are you just happy to see me?

The plan is too be at Maggie Valley next year.

The next project; getting caught up on some house projects that the wife is less than happy about having been put off while working on the sidecar.

not bad for a couple of nights works in the barn! Laughing

seriously, nice job. it looks great.

you mentioned getting the air out of the brake lines. sometimes it helps to crack the banjo fitting at the handlebars and other high places.

ok, I got a verbal report from Mike. He very very happy with the way it works and put about 250 miles on it at the boone rally. A bit more tweaking with the shock but likes it much better than the LL front end. Big Grin
A lot of interest at the rally.

Now he's going to be away from the forum for about 6 months doing his honeydo list Laughing Laughing

Yes, I'm pretty happy with how it worked, given that I did almost no tweeking before leaving for the rally.

Finally measured the toe in, its about 2 inches, a little more than I thought, was shooting for 1 to 1 1/2 inches.

Also turns out I have quite a bit of lean out, probably due to all the sag I get when I sit on the bike. (no fat jokes please)

Just got off the phone with Bruce at Penske shocks, sending them all the sag and spring length data for a second guess at what the spring rate should be. Will get the shock in a box tonight and send it to them tomorrow.

I have ride height adjustment on the sidecar wheel, so once I get the spring rates right will adjust that to get rid of the lean out.

Also just dropped the front fender off at East Coast Customs for paint.

There was an incredible amount of interest at the rally, even had a couple people chase me through the camp ground to ask questions. Once came back to the campsite to find someone laying in the grass taking pictures of the underside of the rig.

Cody (number one son) and I rode some nice roads, icluding 421 up to Shady Valley TN, sort of a wannabe Deal's Gap. (One T-Shirt we saw said Dragon Schmagon, I rode 421) On the way up to the valley went past one corner where there were about a dozen and a half sport bikes parked. Later while we were at the Shady Valley Store they pulled in. Turns out where they were parked is called crash corner, they all hang out there to watch the wrecks. We looked on the way back and saw lots of tire marks leading off of the pavement.

Now to the honey do list.

Mike

Got the front fender back from paint and installed.

Now have an 850 pound spring on the front end, get right at an inch of sag and a stiff, but not uncomfortable ride.

Took the long way home from work a couple days ago. There's on 90 degree right followed by an immediate 135 degree left on to another road. Also some loose gravel, so I take it real easy on the solo bike and don't go that way at all in the pickup. With the old setup on the rig it was always very exciting, lots of sliding and pushing the front end. Now it just zips around the corner, almost boring. Big Grin
